Tristan Cochrane

Tristan worked for 10 years as a commercial fisherman– he brings that physicality and work ethic to his work as a furniture and prop maker.

After selling his boats, Tristan studied practical cabinet and furniture making at Bucks University outside London. He later moved to Eindhoven, the Netherlands to pursue a more conceptual way of working with Maarten Baas, among others. His experience as a commercial fisherman often features in his work. While fish, scales, and water motifs abound, the most important cross over is his work ethic. He brings a strong attention to detail and passion for doing things the right way– rather than the easy way. His work has been recognized by Saatchi Art and Dezeen, and he exhibits across Europe. He's currently working on commissions, freelance work, and developing his own projects at Bloqs.
