Smashing it for Metal Workers

The workshop facilities at BloQs are now so much better as a massive influx of new machines joins an array of new workspaces. Metal Working at BloQs just got easy.

There’s been metal working at BloQs for a several years but nothing like this. Now there is a comprehensive metal fabrication facility that means many jobs are a walk in the park and many things are possible for the first time.

A trio of Morgan Rushworth machines, a guillotine, sheet rollers, and a pan folder, mean that sheet working is now simple. For working in lengths, the star of the show is the mighty Bianco 420MS horizonal bandsaw with its 8m infeed / outfeed rollers, a chop saw, a brand new tube bender, and a section roller. Finally, for shaping and detailed work, there’s the Meyer SR32 geared head drilling machine, a linisher, a vertical bandsaw and a hand operated guillotine.

Gabriel Sterpu just joined up as a Member because of the new kit. “The metal workshop is great for me because its easy and I’ve got everything I need. The machines are good quality and the bench space is really useful. Basically, using BloQs means I can look after my customers.”

Alongside the machines are well appointed working areas. Specific welding bays come in two sizes, have fume extraction, 3 phase & 240v power, a metal topped bench and screening while other bays vary in size, have a bench, and mains power. One bay even has roller shutter access making it suitable for working on vehicles.

“This substantial investment is as part of our push to make BloQs the very best place possible if you are a professional maker” explains Al Parra, one of the BloQs cofounders. “These facilities mean that if you are freelance, or running a fabrication outfit, BloQs can now be a really solid base of operations for you.”

If you’re looking to rent your own metal workshop or need extra fabrication capacity a visit to BloQs is now a must. Come and see for yourself.
